Enterprise 2.0 - The Art of Letting Go
Andrew McAfee, Prof.
Associate Professor at the faculty of Technology and Operations Management at Harvard Business School (HBS) since 1998. His research investigates the ways in which managers can most effectively select, implement, and use information technology to achieve their business goals. Andrew McAfee was the recipient of a US Department of Energy Integrated Manufacturing Fellowship for his doctoral research, which focused on the performance impact of enterprise information technologies such as SAP R/3. One of his research areas is the exploration of how Web 2.0 technologies can be used within the enterprise. He also studies the question of at what point certain kinds of information technology can result in an increased utilization of market forces for cooperative activities. He also initiated the first blog at Harvard Business School, writing about the impact of information technology on businesses and their leaders.
Andrew McAfee teaches the “Managing in the Information Age” MBA course at Harvard Business School. He also teaches Executive Education courses for senior management, including Delivering Information Services, the Owner/President Manager Program, the General Manager Program, and Senior Executive Program from the Middle East. Prior to coming to HBS, he worked as a consultant in operations management, advising clients in a range of industries including aerospace, consumer electronics, white goods, and OEM electronics.
