Stephen Johnston

Senior Manager in the Corporate Strategy Team at Nokia. Since joining the company in 2003, Stephen Johnston has been helping shape Nokia’s Internet strategy by identifying future developments and sounding out new business models and innovations. A passionate blogger, he is a Web 2.0 pioneer of long standing, having promoted the introduction of internal blogs and wikis at Nokia to support both teamwork and collaborative innovation techniques. Since 2006, he has been managing the company-wide innovation initiative “Bottom-Up Internet,” which aims to pave the way for Nokia’s entry into the consumer market for Internet services.

Before joining Nokia, Stephen Johnston worked in Brussels in trade and e-commerce policy and has also been an e-government consultant for Siebel Systems. A Cambridge graduate in Economic Science, he also has an MBA from Harvard Business School, which he attended on a Fulbright scholarship.
