Suw Charman-Anderson

One of the leading experts in social software, Suw Charman-Anderson focuses on the use of blogs and wikis in a business environment. She consults for companies worldwide, with clients in the technology, finance, and PR sectors. After a brief career as a freelance music journalist in the late 90s, she switched to Web design and project management, designing and producing Web sites and intranets for companies such as PriceWaterhouseCoopers und Hutchinson3G.

In 2002 she founded an Internet start-up, which she then managed for a further two years. 2002 also saw the start of her personal blog “Chocolate and Vodka” (http://chocolateandvodka.com), and consequently her entry into the global blogging community. Her passion for blogging and the use of other social software tools such as wikis forms the basis of her successful consultancy business.

Suw Charman-Anderson is also a firm believer in digital rights and was one of the original founders of the Open Rights Group in 2005. This group works to intensify the awareness of legal issues in the area of digital media, carrying out supportive campaigns and promoting grass-roots activism on the subject. Together with her partner Kevin Anderson, she contributes articles to the Strange Attractor blog on the subjects of social software, media, publishing, and related topics (http://strange.corante.com).
