Craig Cmehil
A natural talent in the field of software development, Craig Cmehil wrote his first software program at the age of eight and registered his first patent a mere four years later. His broad-based expertise includes not only the development of desktop applications but also Web services – from backend integration through to GUI design. His recent work has seen a change in primary focus, now concentrating on the users – the knowledge workers – who work with the tools that he and others have developed. His research investigates the uses to which these applications are put and how their users interact with their coworkers in communities at the local and international level.
Craig Cmehil has been an active community member of the SAP Developer Network (SDN) since its formation in 2003. Since 2005, he has been working as Community Evangelist at SAP AG in Walldorf, Baden-Württemberg. Prior to this, he had also worked as a software engineer and Web applications specialist at the international automotive supplier Hella KGaA Hueck & Co, from 1998 to 2005.
