Don Tapscott
CEO of the international think-tank nGenera (formerly New Paradigm), which has been delivering ground-breaking research results on the interplay of technology, productivity, business design, efficiency, and competitive ability since its formation in 1993. Supported by funding from thirty global corporations, Don Tapscott concluded the “IT and Competitive Advantage” research study in 2006. This project, which took two years and a total of US$ 8 million to complete, examined how firms are expected to innovate in the twenty-first century. A new project – “The Net Generation Strategic Investigation” – has been underway since 2007, examining the influence of the “net generation” on society as a whole.
Don Tapscott is a best-selling author in his field, his writings concentrating on the intersection of information technology, business, and society. Key publications include: “Paradigm Shift” (1992, with Art Caston), “Growing Up Digital: The Rise of the Net Generation” (1997), and “The Naked Corporation” (2003). His latest book, “Wikinomics: How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything” (2007, translated into over twenty languages), is co-authored with Anthony Williams.
Don Tapscott is also an Associate Professor Emeritus of the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. He has been the recipient of no fewer than two honorary doctorates in law.
