Ralf Reichwald, Prof. Dr. Prof. h.c. Dr. h.c.
Head of the Institute for Information, Organization and Management within the Faculty of Economics at the Technical University of Munich since 1990. From 1991 to 1993, Ralf Reichwald was also the founding dean of the Faculty of Economics at the Technical University Freiberg Bergakadamie in Saxony. Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at TU Munich from 1994 to 1996, he then served as the first dean of the newly-formed Faculty of Economics (est. 2002) at the same university from 2002 to 2005.
Ralf Reichwald received his doctorate in business management from Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) Munich in 1973. In 1975, he was appointed Associate Professor Emeritus at the University of the Federal Armed Forces, Munich. After holding many senior academic positions in economics at a number of universities, Ralf Reichwald was then appointed Head of Department for General Business Administration at the University of the Federal Armed Forces, Munich in 1987. Between 1983 and 1984 he was Visiting Professor at the University of Texas, Austin and at Syracuse University, New York in 1994. He has been a permanent Visiting Professor at the University of Tunis, El Manar since 1999. In 1994 he received an honorary doctorate in economics from the TU Freiberg, and in 2006 he was named an honorary professor of the University of Tunis, El Manar.
Ralf Reichwald is an active member of numerous scientific and business committees. He is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering (IAO) in Stuttgart and the TU Freiberg, the German representative of the European Academy of Management (EURAM), Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Max Planck Institute for the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center (MIPLC), member of the Editorial Board for the Zeitschrift Führung + Organisation journal published by Schäffer-Poeschel and Vice President of the German-Tunisian Society. Ralf Reichwald also chaired the Advisory Board for the Federal Ministry of Education and Research’s initiatives “Innovation at Work” and “Innovative Services” from 2000 to 2005.
