Stefan Böcking, Dr. Ing. Dr. rer. nat. habil.

Head of Web Services at Vodafone Group Services since 2002. He manages the  internal Web applications, Web platforms, and Web infrastructure services for the 66,000 Vodafone employees worldwide. Also included in this scope is Vodafone’s global intranet – recognized by Normal-Nielsen in 2006 as one of the Top 10 intranets in existence. Previously, Stefan Böcking held a number of research and marketing positions at Siemens AG. After leaving Siemens, he managed both the development unit and consumer internet services operations at O2. After graduating in computer science, with a postgraduate degree from the Berlin Institute of Technology, he then lectured at Technical University of Munich in Computer Engineering from 1996. During this period he gave a number of lectures and presentations on the subject of Internet technology, while also working as an EU consultant. An author of a number of research papers, Stefan Böcking also published the framework document “Object-Oriented Network Protocols” in 1999.
